The written word is a very powerful tool that is used to communicate thoughts to others and this can also be done for us. You can use the written word to help you heal by communicating your deepest desires. We deal with diverse situations every day. Writing is a therapeutic tool that can be done for you to promote self-healing which is done in different forms. The different styles are listed.

The first tool that you can use in writing therapy is writing a letter. In the past many of us wrote letters to friends and family on hard paper. Today it is easier because it is done on the computer through e-mail. The idea of writing a letter is to inform others of what is happening in your life. Letter writing is therapeutic because it is used to write to a loved one who passed on. The letter communicates your thoughts to the departed one because you cannot verbalize it. One can write a letter to someone when you are not able to confront them with a problem. This is done because it is easier for you to clarify your thoughts in a letter form for the person to read.

The next tool that you can use is creative writing. Fictional characters are written from the point of view of the writer so there are parts of the writer in the character. In the past I dealt with this issue in a creative writing club. My last name is Lima, there is a nickname associated with that and it is Lima bean. As a child I was called that often, so it had bad memories for me. When I joined the creative writing group, I created a fictional character with the last name of Lima. The writing group had fun with the character’s name because Lima bean was resurrected. However this time was different because the nickname was used for fun so the nickname could not hurt me anymore. My fictional counterpart dealt with it which helped me deal with it.

Another therapeutic intervention in writing is journaling. Journals are used to record one’s thoughts through good and bad times. An individual discovers many things about oneself while recording their entries.

Individuals can utilize poetry writing for self-healing. Many poems are written that are based on emotional experiences. Songwriters turn their passion into poems then songs. The poem provides an outlet for the flow of words to express emotions. The rhythm builds while the intensity of the feeling grows where it expresses the emotional feelings of the writer at that moment in time.

It is a little known fact that writing is healthy for the soul and heart. It is an easy therapeutic tool to use for simple healing. By using a pen and paper you formulate your thoughts on paper. Your feelings become a concrete item and once it is written down you release the anxiety. Once the situation/feelings are written down you look at the situation objectively. Writing provides therapeutic value such as aid in physical recovery and benefits your emotions. Therapeutic writing provides the opportunity for words to heal.

Creative writing, journaling, poetry and letter writing benefit the individual in so many ways when faced with a traumatic event. This simple exercise is worth our time because it will make you feel better.

ITEC Papers – Questions to Help With Your Exams

All ITEC papers consist of 50 multiple choice questions. There is a pass rate of 60% for all papers which is quite high.

Anyone studying an ITEC subject whether it is Anatomy and Physiology or Beauty, will be well aware of the amount of studying involved. Therefore it is very important to have a study guide that has a large set of multiple choice questions relevant to the subject that you are learning.

The best way to revise ITEC subjects is to take a number of questions every day, preferably 20-30, write them out on a piece of paper or some small information cards and read them over and over again. Choosing the College:

While choosing college athletic options it is better to make a critical assessment of your athletic abilities.
How this should be done?

Discuss with your coach what NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) division may be best suited to your abilities and interest. You may also participate in college showcase which rates student abilities according to the requirements of different divisions. NCAA has three divisions.

Division 1: It is the most competitive with highest profile offering athletic scholarships;

Division 2: It is the next level with an above average competition with lower profile and scholarship opportunities;

Division 3: Consists of smaller colleges where athletes are students first and athletes second and has no athletic scholarships but does have financial aid academic scholarships.

If you are Division 1 material you will, in all probability, know it. Sports in Division 1 are serious business with extensive and nation-wide recruitment effort.If you are not Division 1 material it is better to consider Division 2 or 3 scholarships. When you woke up today, what were your thoughts? Did you rise to the morning full of enthusiasm and motivation? Did you feel energised and excited about what lay ahead of you? Were you greeted with joy and anticipation at the thought of the day’s activities?

If the answer is No! No! And No! This is a great time to change your career so that you can answer yes! Yes! And Yes!

Whether we work for an employee or for ourselves, the act of work takes up many hours of our days and weeks. Should that act be an experience in which we feel motivated, joyous and excited? I would say that it most definitely should be. After all, there are too many people already having the experience where they are not motivated, excited or joyous.

So where you are in your current career and what is it about the role, the organisation, the people whom you work with and you, that have led you to answer No! No! No!? It could be that the organisations ethos, goal and strategic agenda, are not congruent with your own values and agenda. It may be the style of management which you are expected to deliver versus the style of management which you know is more effective.

So you know and feel that a coaching and mentoring model would work well with your employees but the organisation expects you to deliver a top down dictatorial style of management style. It may be that you have simply outgrown the organisation and that you are ready for new adventures, new experiences and new agendas. Either way, if these resonate with you, then now is certainly a great time to move towards your new career. The question is where do you want to move to? It is important to recognise all of the positive attributes, experiences and skills that have gained during this and your previous career roles. When you can see what these are, it is time to harness them and take them with you towards your new career.

What does that new career look like to you? It may well include the use of some of your already gained skills and experiences and may also entail a period of additional training or up-skilling to meet the demands of the current market. If either of these is applicable, what is your first step towards the new career plan?

When you have decided what the first step is? What will you do to make that first step? How will you know that you have taken one step towards your new career? Will the old career look and feel any different? Now is the right time and the opportunities which exist are endless. The new career will give you fulfillment, challenge and reward which were lacking in your previous roles.
